According to the AMTA, in 2004, 23% of massage therapists worked in healthcare. Over 50% of practitioners work as independent therapists. The remainder work for spas, chiropractic offices, cruise ships, sports teams, rehabilitation and pain management centers, hospitals and other health care facilities. In 2002, alternative health care generated 36 Billion dollars. |
